Dear Diary,
Bonjour! You will not believe where I have been this past week. Paris!!! Remember how I said I overheard Cass's mum telling my mum she was going on a holiday with the family? Well I missed the part where she asked my mum if I was allowed to join them. |

My mum was a bit unsure at first but she trusts Cass's mum because they've been friends for ages now. I wish I had more time to prepare myself but I only found out a few days before leaving. I needed help packing but I didn't want mum to do it because she always packs ugly clothes that I never wear. Cotton helped me instead. Half the clothes I was looking for he was sitting on.
Mum and dad took me to tge airport to meet Cass. Mum was crying the whole way. It was so embarrassing because when we met up with the others, mum had red eyes. I've never been overseas without my parents before, but I wasn't nervous. The flight was so boring after i watched all the movies available. Cass fell asleep so I had no-one to talk to! I was really close to waking up Cass i was that bored. Luckily mum made me take a book. She kept saying how it would come in handy if i got bored.
Our hotel in Paris was absolutely beautiful! The foyer had marble floors and massive lounges that looked like they belonged in a Queen's castle. I put my feet up on the lounge for one second and the concierge gave me a dirty look. Whoops! Our first stop was the Eiffel Tower. It looks just like all the pictures I've seen, but better! To get to the top we had to stand in a line for ages but it was totally worth it. It was so pretty.
Then we went to a cafe to fill our tummies. Cass's dad would not stop whining about how hungry he was. He was acting like a big kid. When we got the menus we couldn't read anything so the waiter made some suggestions.
"Try the Escargot, the tourists love it!" He rambled off all this other stuff but I couldn't understand him even when he spoke in English because his accent was so strong. I told Cass's mum to order me anything and Cass copied. When we got our food, I had no idea what I was looking at, but it looked disgusting. Cass's mum realised she must've ordered frogs' legs and snails which are famous in France.
We went to the Louvre museum and I was pumped to see the Mona Lisa because I'd heard so much about it. Turns out it's not as big as I had imagined. Cass's parents wanted to keep exploring the museum but Cass and I were getting sick of it. We couldn't have seen the whole place anyway because it's so big it would take days to look at everything.
We also went to Notre Dame and it made me feel like I was in that movie, The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
We even visited the Arc de Triomphe but Cass and I didn't see what all the fuss was about. It's just a big arc, but it honours those who fought for France.
I was having such a great time that I kind of forgot about Catherine who was back at home. I bought a postcard to send back to her. I told her all about the sights we'd seen and said I wished she could have come too.
